School Philosophy

ABOUT COZYTIME DAY CARE CENTRE IN TORONTO

Cozy Time Montessori Academy’s philosophy incorporates our program mission statement through the implementation of the educational philosophy and academic approach of Dr. Maria Montessori.  Each child is recognized as an individual, with varying abilities, needs and interests.  Our child-centered program satisfies and appeals to the needs of each child, rather than a static curriculum that every child must follow at the same pace.  Children are encouraged to discover their own innate abilities and to develop a strong sense of independence.

The Montessori concept is unique in its ability to meet the needs of the developing child, to stimulate the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and creative stages of development.  The ultimate goal of Montessori is to yield a truly educated person, who will continue to learn long after he or she leaves the classroom.

Our aspiration is to aid children in their development by providing an environment that fosters their innate curiosity and love of learning.  Our school strives to create an enriched environment that inspires children to reach their fullest potential using fundamental Montessori teaching methods and materials.  This fosters a strong sense of community and respect for oneself, others and the environment in order to build a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.

All our Casa classrooms at Cozy Time are carefully prepared for a wide variety of learners, who learn at their own pace, and where every child has a sense of belonging, while teachers guide them in this self-discovery process every step of the way.

At Cozy Time  the concept of teamwork and respect extend to the relationship between parents and staff.  We want to ensure all our families that their children are receiving not only quality care, but a quality education.  We welcome any feedback and participation and will do our best to ensure your family needs are met.

The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the period from birth to age six, for that is the time when man's intelligence itself is being formed. At no other age has the child a greater need of intelligent help, and any obstacle that impedes his creative work will lessen his chance of achieving perfection
