Cozy Time Daycare: Where Learning Happens
Research repeatedly shows how important positive early learning is. Did you know that 90% of brain growth occurs between the ages of 0-5? Therefore, parents need to think carefully when choosing a school or daycare for their child.
At Cozy Time in Toronto, we use a Montessori based curriculum where every child has direct teacher support and the opportunity to learn as they spend time with other children.
How Cozy Time is Different
Cozy Time provides a safe and nurturing environment for children. Each class is set up to assist children with their individual needs, based on their skill level and age. Our shelves are filled with Montessori activities that enhance a child’s will to learn and explore different developmental areas. Here at Cozy Time we take pride in preparing children academically and socially.
Child Specific Learning
At Cozy Time, we know that every child develops and learns differently. Some children learn by sight. Other children will learn by touch or hearing. Our highly trained teachers make it their goal to understand what each individual child needs to succeed, and they can cater for those needs.
Do you remember being a child? Did you love to draw? Paint? Model with clay? At Cozy Time daycare in Toronto we know that creative kids are happy kids. As a result, we engage children with creative arts to help them understand their strengths and interests. This will assist them with setting a foundation for their future work style.
What we are providing for your children
The Infant room consists of children approximately from 6 months to 18 months. The class ratio is 1:3 and the teacher must hold a recognized Early Childhood Education Diploma.
This program incorporates a wide variety of teaching methods and materials to allow children to grow based on their interests. The infant program is based solely on the child’s needs and is developed in conjunction with the parents. This program is the child’s first experience out of the home.
Pre Casa Program
The Pre Casa Room consists of children approximately from 18 months of age to approximately 30 months of age. The class ratio is 1:5 and the teacher must hold a recognized Early Childhood Education Diploma. The children are taught many important life skills while socializing and participating in Montessori activities. The senior toddlers are beginning to move away from parallel play and explore working towards cooperative play by learning how to work together with their peers. In this age group the children are introduced to field trips around the Greater Toronto Area and Toronto.
Casa Montessori Program
The Casa classroom consists of children approximately from 30 months to 6 years of age. The class ratio is 1:8 and the teacher must hold a MACTE or AMI diploma from an approved school. Our Curriculum at Cozy Time begins with a deep respect for children as unique individuals. The Casa classes bring children together in multi aged groups, rather than classes comprised of just one age group. This allows the teachers to develop close and long-term relationships with their students, while also learning each child’s learning style.

To help with children’s individual personal growth, we use circle time to give children a safe environment in which to discuss their feelings, personal perspectives, and new educational insights.
CONSTRUCTIVE AND MANIPULATIVE PLAY
Infant and toddlers love manipulating things with their hands. Even better, constructive play is integral to both cognitive development and the fine tuning of children’s coordination and motor skills.

“Awesome place for kids. I strongly recommend Cozy Time Academy for little kids. It’s a great team that works really hard on each and every kid focusing on their strengths. My son has always been interested in building things and have shown interest in tools, while I have seen great improvement in his skill and in a couple of months he has started showing interested in Geography. He is already aware of a lot of things which I couldn’t imagine coming from a 3 year old. Wish all the very best to the Cozy Time team”

What is Montessori?
The Montessori curriculum was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907. It is designed to take away the pressure to learn by having children work on real life skills that will help them long term. The curriculum provides 5 major areas (Practical Life, Sensorial, Culture, Mathematics, and Language), that teachers can use to educate their students. Children learn important math and language skills, as well as proper manners. For instance, tucking in their chair, folding clothing, accessing Montessori activities, etc.
