Cozytime: The Fun Early Learning Daycare Center

Research repeatedly shows how important positive early learning is. Did you know, for example, that 90% of brain growth occurs between the ages of 0-5? This is why parents need to think carefully when choosing a daycare center.

Thankfully, Cozy Time in Toronto is a different daycare center. At Cozy Time, we use a Montessori based curriculum. This is one which is about learning via play. At the same time, every child at Cozy Time has direct teacher support. This and the opportunity to learn as they spend time with other children.

Why Cozy Time is Different

How Cozy Time is different is simple. At Cozy Time, children learn as they play. Moreover, this is for a good reason. Children love to play. Play helps children learn about the world. Play also helps children make friends. A normal day at Cozy Time will see us play music. It will see us sit down for group talks. And every child is sure to have lots of fun!

Child Specific Learning

At Cozy Time, we know that every child is different. Some children learn by sight. Other children will learn by touch. Other children will learn using hearing. The good news? At Cozy Time, we will find out how your child learns. When we do, we will then cater for this. If a child learns by touch, we will use hands on learning approaches with them.

Creative Learning

Do you remember being a child? Did you love to draw? Paint? Model with clay? At Cozy Time, we know that creative kids are happy kids. Creative kids also learn better. This is why we do everything we can to inspire creativity. We encourage role play. We encourage singing. We tell stories. And we make children more confident in the process.

At Cozy Time, we know that social-centric play time and early learning is key to better overall cognitive development.

To help with children's individual personal growth, we use circle time to give children a safe environment in which to discuss their feelings, personal perspectives, and new educational insights.

Music is literally instrumental when it comes to facilitating better academic learning, creative insights, and socialization. This is why we regularly incorporate music into learning and playtime activities.

Infant and toddlers love manipulating things with their hands. Even better, constructive play is integral to both cognitive development and the fine tuning of children's coordination and motor skills.

At Cozy Time, we facilitate imaginative and dramatic play, in order for children to learn more about the wider world around them, whilst also exploring their individual creative impulses.

Senior toddlers are automatically moved to our dedicated Montessori early learning classroom. Here, children still play but also benefit from a bespoke educational environment designed to facilitate better cognitive development.

Practical life lessons are critical to toddler development. We, therefore, help children discover the principles of good manners, while also helping them fine tune motor skills associated with activities such as dressing.

Using various creative & educational approaches, we help infant and toddler students learn how to differentiate between their senses. Doing so enhances decision-making skills, creativity, and basic spatial awareness.

As part of our early learning program, we maintain strong communication between each parent and the educator responsible for their child's care at our academy.

Infant Program

At Cozy Time centre in Toronto we incorporate a wide variety of teaching methods and materials in the Infant Room. The class ratio is 1:3 and the teacher must hold a recognized Early Childhood Education Diploma. The infant program is based solely on the child’s needs and is developed in conjunction with the parents, on a one-to-one basis. The infant program is the child’s first experience out of the home

Junior Toddler Program

The Junior Toddler Room consists of children approximately from 18 months to approximately 2 years of age. In the Junior Toddler room we focus on the immerging independence of the child. As toddlers develop their language skills, we give them lots of opportunities to interact with peers and teachers on a more complex level.

Senior Toddler Program

The Senior Toddler Room consists of children approximately from 24 months of age to approximately 30 months of age. The children are taught many important life skills while socializing and making new friends. The senior toddlers are beginning to move away from parallel play and explore working toward cooperative play with other children. Learning how to get along

Casa Program Montessori

Our Curriculum at Cozy Time begins with a deep respect for children as unique individuals. Our Casa classes bring children together in multi aged groups, rather than classes comprised of just one age group. This allows the teachers to develop close and long term relationships with their students while also learning each child’s learning style.

Healthy food and nutrition is vital for optimum early learning and cognitive development. This is why at Cozy Time daycare, we focus just as much on providing high-quality food at meal time, as we do an inspiring early learning environment.

When your child is in the care of our Cozy Time daycare center, they will be provided with a nutritious breakfast, hot lunch, and afternoon snack prepared by our academy cook. Even better, all meals are prepared fresh onsite using only high-quality ingredients.

What this means is that none of our baked goods contain any artificial chemicals or preservatives. In like regard, all food served at Cozy Time daycare is prepared in line with the official Canada Food Guide. Meanwhile, as well as having a 4-week rotation on all of our menu items, the Cozy Time academy menu changes to match each of the seasons. In doing so, we provide students with tasty, nutritious, and seasonally appropriate meals which they will love, regardless of their specific dietary requirements.

Common Questions

Montessori learning is a real science. It was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907. It is designed to take away pressure to learn. Instead, children learn via play. They learn using music. And they learn by being social. This is why we make kids feel safe. And this is why we make lessons fun!

How Montessori Learning Works

Do you have questions? Many parents ask us the same thing: Are our methods approved of? Are they supported by real science? The answer to both is, yes. Cozy Time has the full approval of the Ontario Ministry of Education.
